Oh no! You chose the wrong color, or the stylist didn’t have the experience to know how to achieve the look you wanted…or worst-case scenario, you tried to bleach your hair yourself and now it is orange!
Well, at Pret-a-Porter Salon & Spa we specialize in fixing those mistakes!
We have years of experience working with hair that is not optimal when the guest arrives. It is often a challenge, and always very gratifying to see someone’s hair go from BAD to FANTASTIC.
Does it cost a lot to get my hair corrected? The answer can be yes, sometimes, but there are many corrections that can be made in a short period of time and be less expensive. Depending on the problem, it may take 1-5 hours or more to fix your hair…and once in awhile you must come back to the salon the next day or next week (after deep conditioning) to continue the process. So of course, the more time and product spent to correct your hair, the more it will cost.

How is corrective hair color done?
There are four major forms of corrective color:
#1 Hair that is too dark…This is the costliest and most time-consuming type of corrective color. At least one decolorizing treatment (and sometimes more) must be done to lift out the old color before re-coloring to the guests’ desired level and tone. Once the hair is lifted to the correct level it will be recolored to the tone that you desire. This may be only the first step if you are also wanting to highlight your hair. The next step would be to highlight and then tone the highlights. So this scenario would require a total of 4 different color applications.
#2 Hair that is too light…An easy fix. Going darker is always easy. Depending on how many levels darker you want to be the hair may need to be filled first with a layer of color before adding the final color. This will help the hair fill in and the final color to last longer.
#3 Off-tone or uneven color …We call this “color balancing” A good example of color balancing is a redhead that has several different tones of red in her hair, with the roots being very bright and the ends being faded. This can be done by using two different formulas on the hair to get it more even.
#4 What if my hair is the wrong tone? This might be an easy fix. Let’s say you got your hair highlighted and it is a little too yellow. A quick toning service can have you loving your hair and on your way in less than an hour!

I have been a Pret-a-Porter client for over 12 years. Everyone I have engaged, Dan, Roz, Shauna for hair, Diana for facial, Patty for massage, Kendra for nails and hair, do a wonderful job. Barbara will work hard to get you the appointments you desire. They serve a delicious tea! It’s a family business with a small-town vibe. Casual and unassuming, great for me!
